Fishing Reports & Bragging Board

Bob Thornberry and Daughter Mallory, out of the Moorings at Carrabelle with their 20lb gag grouper caught off Dog Island bottom fishing.  Fishing has slowed a little, but cut bait and trolling are still producing.  Inshore speckled trout season has opened.  Brandon Fewox produced a good catch of speckled trout on Lanark Village Reef off of Carrabelle using top water baits and shrimp.

Here are a couple of pics from Sunday 2/24/08.  Larry Rishell and Brian Lowe started in 30 foot, picked up 2 gags then went out to 55’ (still within 9 miles state waters) caught 7 more gags on cut Ly’s, standard fish finder rigs.  Other customer’s trolled stretch 30’s and picked up several other nice gags.

“Saturday, February 16, 2008 caught gag grouper in 55ft. state waters.  Caught and released a 25’ red snapper.  Fishing is great!  Fishing for grouper in federal waters will reopen March 15, 2008.  We encourage everyone to come see what great fishing we have out of The Moorings at Carrabelle.”
